ART and DESIGN

Our principal aim is to develop the children’s knowledge, skills and understanding in art and design ensuring that the children develop skills for exploring, developing their own ideas, evaluating and improving their creative work. Children also have the opportunity to use a wide range of materials and resources, including ICT. An awareness of colour, line, texture, shape and proportion are developed alongside the use of symbols to convey ideas and feelings. Through focused tasks, practical experiences and a structured curriculum children we hope children will become confident at recording what they see and how they feel in their sketch books .The study of a wide range of artists, craftspeople and designers compliments this work.
